The Steering Committee of the Cliffs of Fundy Aspiring Geopark has submitted its application to the Canadian Geoparks Network, which will deliberate and determine if Cliffs of Fundy will proceed to the next step in becoming a Global Geopark. This is an exciting time for the committee! Spring and Summer are going to be busy with preparations for a possible site visit from the Canadian evaluation team.
Engaging with the vibrant communities within the Geopark is an important step for Cliffs of Fundy. To facilitate this, an Ambassador Program is currently being developed. This will allow for mutually beneficial partnerships between the Geopark and the businesses and heritage sites within. Stay tuned for updates!
Representatives from the Steering Committee will be attending the Canadian National Committee for Geoparks Workshop in Ottawa this June, and the International UNESCO Conference on Global Geoparks at the Adamello-Brenta UNESCO Global Geopark in Italy this September.
