They will be developing treatment plans to stabilize the quill and birchbark objects for the travel home to Mi'kma'ki in a few years. This is the first of two trips to DC this year for the quillworkers. Groups of beaders and basketmakers are following later this spring as part of the project. We hear it has been a great week and are looking forward to hearing the details! Wela'liek to the Department of Canadian Heritage, #Scotiabank, Maritimes and Northeast Pipeline, and the Primates World Relief and Development Fund (#pwrdf) for their support of the project.
